In an effort to serve customers with a more thorough ordering process and offer additional products such as foil business cards, custom die cutting, spot color printing, spot UV and more MakeMeCards.com has been completely redesigned.Business cards are not always printed in full color, sometimes our customers want more. Our ordering system allows for any process to be applied to most printing processes. Offset Pantone® spot color business cards can be custom die cut, foil stamped, embossed, hole punched or whatever is needed. Full color business cards can have letterpress foil stamping, embossing, custom die cutting as well. The possibilities are endless. The goal is simple..create awesome business cards.
“We love business cards, and creating a perfect card is an art not a job.”

  • In an effort to minimize quality issues each order is processed individually. This allows our team to take a closer look at each order to inspect artwork issues, typos or other errors. Most large print companies use gang run printing techniques which allow them to print multiple jobs at the same time. Consequently automated artwork layout and imposition is used to minimize human intervention. This allows quality issues to go completely unnoticed, which provides undesirable products.Once an order is placed we\’re notified via e-mail. Our prepress staff receives the order, prints a composite proof as well as separations. This ensures accurate print results right away. If the artwork does not print color separations correctly we will dig further to find the issue. If significant changes need to be made or there is significant color shift a PDF proof is provided at no charge for review if a hard copy digital proof is not requested. After the art department gives the go ahead on artwork we set it 2,4,8 or 10 to a sheet using inDesign (Step & Repeat), it is then submitted to the press room and if custom die cutting is needed then a die is put on order. The press operators are able to review the artwork before it goes to press to verify it once again. Plates are printed, ink gets mixed, paper is cut and loaded, and our Heidelberg gets to down to business putting ink on paper.

After adequate dry time, our bindery guys use a quillotine cutter to slice up the business cards into their appropriate size (usually 3.5″ x 2″). If special operations such as foiling, embossing or custom die cutting is needed then we use a custom made die (made of brass on a CNC machine). The die fits into a letterpress, paper is loaded, adjusted for spot on accuracy, and the paper feeds through. Once completed the cards are removed from their die punch by hand, inserted into a box and shipped.

We hope this illustrates our attention to detail that goes into each and every order we process. If you have any questions about our print process visit our contact page and select “Process Inquiry” from the drop down menu.
